Quick Open
Quick Open lets you quickly search and open files, navigate to headings, and execute commands with a single keyboard shortcut or gesture.

Show Quick Open
- On Mac, press ⌘O to open Quick Open. You can customize the keyboard shortcut for Quick Open in Settings.
- On iPhone and iPad, swipe from the right edge of the screen to the left while browsing files or while editing a file.
Navigation
Once opened, you can navigate through results using the following shortcuts:
- Up Arrow or ⌃K or ⌃P — Move to the previous result
- Down Arrow or ⌃J or ⌃N — Move to the next result
- Return — Open the selected file or execute the selected command
- Escape — Close Quick Open
When pressing the up arrow key on the first result, Quick Open will cycle through your past searches.
Opening Files by Name
Type the name of a file to search for it. Quick Open will show matching files as you type, making it easy to switch between files quickly.
Commands
Quick Open can also execute various commands. Type > to see all available commands, or start typing a command name to filter the list.
Available commands include:
- Reveal in Sidebar — Reveals the currently selected file in the sidebar
- Pin/Unpin — Pins or unpins the currently selected file
- Open in New Window — Opens the currently selected file in a new window
- Toggle Focus Mode — Turns focus mode on or off
- New Window — Opens a new empty window
- Settings — Opens the settings window (Mac only)
- View All Attachments — Opens the attachments browser

Searching Headings
Type # in Quick Open to search for headings in your currently open document. Pressing enter will jump to the selected heading.
